Events

For more than 60 years, NASW members have made a collective impact on the institutions and policies that help millions of people achieve better lives in their communities. NASW sponsors award programs to honor the highest social work achievements and hosts conferences to showcase excellence throughout the profession.

We also coordinate state-based and nationwide celebrations and campaigns to help educate the public about the many roles of social workers.

Preparing for the LCSW Licensing Exam? Join our Law and Ethics Exam Review with Dr. Stan Taubman for NASW New Mexico members and non-members. Whether you're a member or not, this group offers a supportive space to collaborate, study, and strengthen your test-taking skills.

For NASW Members: $100
For Non-Members: $135

This 6-hour law and ethics review is designed to strengthen Law and Ethics license exam performance, improve clinical practice, and meet 6 CE units of the CE requirements for license renewal and for out of state practitioners. Participants will have an opportunity to develop greater clarity and sensitivity to legal and ethical responsibilities in a variety of challenging practice situations.

The event will be led by Dr. Stan Taubman, who has taught clinical workshops since 1974. Recent workshops have focused on law and ethics, diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical documentation. Dr. Taubman is the former Director of the Medi-Cal Behavioral Health Plan for Alameda County (CA) and Director of Management Services for the Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Service. He has served on the state committees which develop the currently used Medi-Cal Medical Necessity Regulations. He has been in clinical practice since 1968 in mental health, medical, child welfare and private practice settings, and has served on the faculties of the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, University of Southern California, San Diego State University, and currently the University of California, Berkeley.
